A major milestone arrived August 1, when Front Street reopened to the public between Papalaua and Shaw streets. While the historic commercial core, including the Baldwin Home Museum and the Banyan Tree, remains a careful restoration zone, the town’s north end is open, busy and full of aloha.
What Can You Do in Lahaina Right Now?
Visitors exploring things to do in Lahaina will find genuine progress alongside patience. Restaurants such as Star Noodle, Aloha Mixed Plate and the newly reopened Honu Oceanside serve fresh, island-inspired plates with harbor views if you want to taste Maui’s local flavors.
