Located just south of Lahaina town, Puamana Beach Park is part of a residential community, which gives it a peaceful, uncrowded atmosphere. Unlike some of Maui’s larger resort beaches, Puamana feels more like a neighborhood gathering place where visitors can slow down and enjoy the scenery.
The shoreline here is a mix of sand and lava rock, with grassy areas and palm trees creating a scenic backdrop. It is a wonderful place for a morning walk or an afternoon spent relaxing by the ocean. During the winter months, the beach becomes a popular spot to watch waves roll in along the west coast.
However, Puamana Beach Park is not ideal for many classic beach activities. Conditions from swimming, snorkeling, or sunbathing are not great. With that said, if you simply want to relax and listen to the sound of the waves, it is a great spot. Additionally, it is known as a good surfing location for experienced surfers during the winter.
