From end to end, the beach runs approximately six miles, so there is plenty of space to spread out, adding to the peace and serenity. Many visitors take the long length of the beach as the perfect invitation for a beachside stroll; walking the beach is one of the top activities you can enjoy at Maalaea Beach.
One of Maalaea Beach’s prime draws is the opportunity to view marine life in its natural habitat. The tidepools located near the rocky outcroppings along the shoreline are great places to observe colorful fish, octopuses, rays, and more. Maalaea Beach is also known as a haven for sea turtles. As the sun sets, it is not uncommon for sea turtles to crawl up the shore and rest until morning. If you see a sea turtle, please observe it from a distance. During whale season, Maalaea Beach is also a great place to go whale watching.

Maui Road Directions to Maalaea Beach
Drive southeast on Lower Honoapiilani Rd toward Office Rd before continuing onto Honoapiilani Highway, also known as Highway 30. Turn left onto Keawe St and then take a right onto Route 3000, also known as the Lahaina Bypass. Eventually, you will be back on the Honoapiilani Highway, which you will take to N Kihei Rd, where you will find numerous parking opportunities.
