On August 8, 2023, Lahaina was forever changed. Wildfires on Maui have resulted in what many have called Hawaii’s largest natural disaster. Most of Historic Front Street, the harbor, Kamehameha Elementary, the Lahaina Heritage Museum, The Baldwin Museum and countless other neighboring buildings and businesses are gone. Also destroyed are hundreds of homes, displacing thousands of families living in the Lahaina area and elsewhere.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those impacted by the fires, and especially to the families of the those that have lost their loved ones.
Maui is now going through one of many phases on the road to recovery.
